Akash has 8.5 acres of ancestral farm. Of these, oranges are planted in seven acres, while in the remaining fields he has been cultivating watermelons for the last seven-eight years. Watermelon was first planted in one and a half acres. Now two and a half acres of farming has been taken on contract for two years. They were planted in an area of тАЛтАЛ2.5 acres with mulching beds. After proper planning of watering and spraying, spring crop is harvested. Watermelon harvesting is going on. He planted watermelons in 2.5 acres on January 15 and till April 6, two harvests have been done.

The farmer said that a total of 15 tonnes of goods have been sent so far at an average price of Rs 10 to 12 per kg. The total profit was Rs 1 lakh 80 thousand. 18 to 20 tonnes of goods are expected to be released in future also. In such a situation, the net profit is expected to be Rs 2 lakh 95 thousand. 22 to 24 thousand plants are required for watermelon cultivation. For this, instead of buying saplings from outside, he prepared the saplings in the field itself. This saved them the cost of purchasing saplings. They take the watermelons grown in their fields to sell in Kalamana market.
