Tony Romo and CBS Sports have mutually agreed to part ways after nine years together.

Romo joined CBS Sports in 2017 as its lead NFL game analyst.

Before broadcasting, Romo played quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys from 2003 through 2016.

Romo was selected to the Pro Bowl four times during his NFL career.

Romo was arrested in Wisconsin on July 23, 2026, following a traffic stop involving an OWI allegation

On September 1, Romo pleaded no contest to the OWI charge.

CBS had placed Romo on leave following the July incident. J.J. Watt filled his role during the absence.

CBS announced that J.J. Watt will remain with Jim Nantz and Tracy Wolfson for the rest of the 2026 season.

Romo said he was proud of his CBS work and plans to take time away to focus on his family and his next chapter.

After nine years at CBS Sports, Romo is leaving the NFL broadcast booth. His next professional move remains open.
