How the UK Elects Itsant Prime Minister

The UK is divided into 650 constituencies, each represented by one Member of Parliament (MP).

In a general election, each person has one vote.

The party with the most MPs is considered the winner and is invited by the monarch to form a government.

If that party has more than half of the MPs, they can form a government alone.

The party leader becomes the Prime Minister.
